Renewing your Emirates ID is now faster, simpler, and completely digital.
As part of the UAE’s Zero Bureaucracy Program, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has introduced a one-step renewal and replacement process, designed to make government services smarter, faster, and stress-free.
A Major Shift Toward Seamless Digital Governance
Gone are the days of filling multiple forms and re-entering stored details.
The new system simplifies the entire Emirates ID renewal process to just one step: Submit → Pay → Done.
The update is available on both the UAEICP mobile app and the ICP website, offering a fully digital journey that aligns with the UAE’s vision for efficient, citizen-first governance.
What Changed
- Old way: Multiple forms, extra fields (address, pre-stored info), and repetitive data entry.
- New way: Single-step renewal or replacement — just review your pre-filled details, submit your request, and make payment.

- Under 21: Eligible for a 5-year Emirates ID.
- Replacements: Match remaining validity (not editable).
- Citizens only: Expat residents continue to follow the existing residency and visa-linked flow.
