Art Connects Women 2026 Brings 115 Artists to Dubai

Art Connects Women 2026 is returning to Dubai from November 12 to 15, bringing together 115 female artists representing 115 countries for an international celebration of creativity, cultural diversity and women’s empowerment. Organised by ZeeArts Gallery, the ninth edition will take place at DIFC Gate Village under the theme “Educate to Empower.” Held under the patronage of UNESCO, the exhibition aims to strengthen women’s representation in the arts while creating opportunities for cultural exchange, learning and international collaboration.

Dubai Welcomes the Ninth Edition of Art Connects Women

Art has always provided a way for people to share experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone. This November, Dubai will bring together women from different cultural backgrounds, artistic traditions and personal journeys through Art Connects Women 2026.

The international exhibition will showcase the creative perspectives of participants from across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, the Middle East and Oceania.

Each participating artist brings an individual approach to storytelling, creating opportunities for audiences to encounter different cultural identities and perspectives within one exhibition.

Organised in collaboration with Dubai Culture and Dubai International Financial Centre, the event reflects the importance of creating spaces where women artists can gain visibility, build professional relationships and contribute to international conversations about art.

Beyond exhibiting artwork, the initiative focuses on recognising women as creative leaders whose contributions extend into education, entrepreneurship and cultural development.

Educate to Empower: The Theme Behind Art Connects Women 2026

This year’s theme, “Educate to Empower,” places education at the centre of the conversation about women’s opportunities in the creative industries.

The concept explores how access to knowledge, artistic development and professional networks can help women build sustainable creative careers.

For many artists, developing a distinctive creative voice is only part of the journey. Understanding how to present their work, establish connections and navigate the business side of the art world can be equally important.

Through its 2026 programme, Art Connects Women aims to encourage conversations about these challenges while highlighting the relationship between education, confidence and professional independence.

The theme also reinforces the value of cultural exchange, allowing artists from different countries to learn from one another’s experiences and approaches.

From 20 Artists in 2017 to a Global Creative Community

The story of Art Connects Women began in Dubai in 2017, when ZeeArts Gallery introduced the exhibition with 20 female artists representing 20 countries.

Founded by artist and cultural activist Zaahirah Muthy, the initiative was developed to address the limited visibility of women artists and create more opportunities for their work to be recognised internationally.

Over the years, the project has expanded its global reach, connecting artists through exhibitions, cultural programmes and professional exchanges.

Its ninth edition will bring together 115 women from 115 countries, reflecting how the initiative has developed from a relatively small exhibition into an international platform.

Although the event has traditionally been associated with International Women’s Day, its mission extends beyond a single annual celebration.

The programme continues to focus on long-term representation, recognising that greater visibility and stronger professional opportunities are essential to building a more inclusive art industry.

What to Expect at Art Connects Women Dubai 2026

The four-day programme will combine artistic presentations with discussions about the future of culture and women’s participation in creative industries.

The event begins on November 12 with a private exhibition viewing, followed by a conference on November 13 titled “Cultural Investment: Art’s New Era in Sustainable Finance and AI.”

The conference will explore how developments in artificial intelligence and new investment approaches are influencing creative work, cultural institutions and the wider art economy.

A cultural tour is scheduled for November 14, followed by an awards gala on November 15, recognising achievements connected to art, culture and social impact.

For the general public, ZeeArts has announced exhibition viewing from November 13 to 15, between 3pm and 10pm, at DIFC Gate Village.

Visitors can expect a diverse presentation of work by women artists representing different countries, cultural influences and creative experiences.

Why Women’s Representation in Art Still Matters

Despite the influence of women throughout art history, their contributions have not always received equal recognition within galleries, collections and cultural institutions.

Art Connects Women addresses this imbalance by creating an international platform dedicated to female artistic expression.

The exhibition also highlights an important aspect of empowerment: recognition alone is not always enough. Artists need opportunities to connect with collectors, cultural organisations, fellow creatives and professionals who can support their development.

By bringing women from different parts of the world into the same creative environment, the initiative encourages both artistic dialogue and professional collaboration.

For audiences, it provides an opportunity to discover artists whose work reflects experiences and cultural perspectives that may be unfamiliar to them.
