UAE November 2026: Dubai Run, Etihad Rail & New Changes

November 2026 has arrived with major developments across Dubai and the wider UAE, including new speed limits on five Dubai roads, two upcoming Etihad Rail passenger stations and the return of some of the country’s biggest outdoor events. As temperatures begin to cool, residents can look forward to Dubai Run on November 22, expanded winter camping facilities at Al Ruwayyah, a new bungee jumping attraction in Abu Dhabi and the tenth edition of the Mother of the Nation Festival. Several changes came into effect on November 1, while other events are scheduled throughout the month.

From daily commuting to weekend plans, here’s what UAE residents need to know about November 2026.

Dubai’s New Road Speed Limits Are Now in Effect

Drivers in Dubai should pay closer attention to road signs following changes to the maximum permitted speeds on five major streets from November 1, 2026.

Three roads now have higher speed limits, while two have lower limits. The adjustments apply in both directions along specified sections, rather than across the entire length of each road.

Road Previous Limit New Limit
Al Asayel Street 60 km/h 80 km/h
Al Mustaqbal Street 60 km/h 70 km/h
Latifa bint Hamdan Street 60 km/h 70 km/h
Al Rebat Street 100 km/h 90 km/h
Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street 80 km/h 70 km/h

On Al Asayel Street, the increased limit applies between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street. The changes on Al Mustaqbal Street cover the section between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street, while the new limit on Latifa bint Hamdan Street applies between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.

Motorists must slow down on Al Rebat Street between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street.

Traffic signs and speed cameras are being updated to reflect the changes. Drivers should follow the limits displayed on each section, particularly where the maximum speed has been reduced.

UAE November 2026: Dubai Run, Etihad Rail & New Changes

Dubai Run Returns as the City Embraces Fitness Month

One of Dubai’s most anticipated community events is returning this November, with Dubai Run scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2026.

The event forms part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which is celebrating its tenth edition from October 31 to November 29. The annual initiative encourages residents and visitors to complete 30 minutes of physical activity each day for 30 consecutive days.

The programme began with Dubai Ride on November 1, allowing cyclists to experience some of the city’s major roads in a different way.

Next on the calendar is Dubai Stand Up Paddle at Hatta Dam on November 7 and 8, offering outdoor activities against the backdrop of Hatta’s mountain landscape.

Dubai Run will then bring thousands of participants together on Sheikh Zayed Road for a large community running experience. The month concludes with Dubai Yoga on November 29, bringing the fitness celebrations to an end.

Beyond these major events, community fitness activities and organised workout sessions will continue throughout the city.

Two New Etihad Rail Stations Will Open on November 30

The UAE’s growing passenger railway network is preparing for another milestone, with Etihad Rail stations in Zayed City and Liwa scheduled to open on November 30, 2026.

Both stations are located in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi, and will provide new travel connections for residents and visitors travelling to the western region of the emirate.

The opening was brought forward by one month to coincide with the beginning of Al Dhafra’s seasonal festivals, when the region attracts visitors for cultural activities and outdoor experiences.

The new stations are part of the continuing expansion of the national passenger railway, which aims to make travelling between different parts of the UAE more convenient.

Their arrival is particularly significant for communities in Al Dhafra, providing additional transport options and improving access to the region.

Al Ruwayyah Opens a Bigger Winter Camping Season

The arrival of cooler weather also means the return of Dubai’s winter camping season.

Al Ruwayyah has opened its 2026 to 2027 camping season, running from November 1 until April 30, 2027, with expanded facilities and capacity for approximately 600 camps.

The number of available camps has increased by around 120% compared with previous seasons, giving eligible UAE nationals more opportunities to enjoy overnight desert experiences.

This year’s additions include 50 dedicated caravan plots, introduced for the first time, alongside 10 fully equipped camps available for daily rental.

The expanded arrangements are intended to provide greater flexibility for families who enjoy spending time outdoors, including those who prefer ready-equipped camping facilities.

With the winter season beginning, Al Ruwayyah offers a way to experience Dubai’s desert environment away from the busier parts of the city.

The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm Reopens After Refurbishment

One of Palm Jumeirah’s well-known luxury hotels has welcomed guests again following several months of refurbishment.

The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm reopened on November 1, 2026, after temporarily closing major facilities in April.

The refurbishment includes improvements to the hotel’s hospitality spaces, with particular attention given to the St. Regis Bar, which has been reimagined as part of the property’s return.

The reopening brings another luxury hospitality option back to Palm Jumeirah as Dubai enters its popular winter tourism season.

With cooler evenings encouraging outdoor dining and leisure activities, the property’s return comes at a busy time for the city’s hospitality industry.

UAE Introduces New Veterinary Antibiotic Restrictions

November also marks an important regulatory change affecting veterinary medicines in the UAE.

A ban on veterinary use of ciprofloxacin came into effect on November 1, 2026, as part of efforts to address antimicrobial resistance and protect the effectiveness of antibiotics used in human healthcare.

Ciprofloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics, which plays an important role in treating certain bacterial infections.

The restriction covers veterinary medicinal products and raw materials containing ciprofloxacin, affecting nine veterinary products, including eight imported products and one locally registered product.

The concern is that inappropriate antibiotic use in animals can contribute to bacterial resistance, making some infections more difficult to treat.

Pet owners should consult a veterinarian if they are concerned about an existing prescription rather than changing or stopping treatment without professional guidance.

A New Bungee Jumping Experience Opens at Yas Bay

For residents searching for something more adventurous this winter, Abu Dhabi has introduced a new attraction overlooking the waterfront.

Bungee at Yas Bay opened on November 1, 2026, offering a 50-metre bungee jump at Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island.

The experience combines a controlled free fall with views across the waterfront, giving adventure enthusiasts an unusual way to experience the destination.

The attraction’s first operating season runs from November 1 to December 3, 2026, before returning for another period from January 10 to February 28, 2027.

Its arrival adds another outdoor adventure option to Yas Island’s entertainment offering, which already attracts visitors through its theme parks, restaurants and waterfront experiences.

Visitors should check the attraction’s operating schedule and participation requirements before planning their visit.

Mother of the Nation Festival Returns for Its Tenth Anniversary

Abu Dhabi is also preparing to welcome back one of its popular winter celebrations.

The Mother of the Nation Festival returns on November 28, 2026, marking its tenth anniversary with a programme of family entertainment running until January 3, 2027.

This year’s edition, titled World of Wonder, will feature activities across Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, with different regional programmes taking place during the festival season.

The celebration will introduce three new themed zones in Abu Dhabi City, alongside rides, gaming experiences, live performances, food concepts and interactive family attractions.

Named in honour of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the festival has become an established part of the emirate’s winter entertainment calendar.

The anniversary programme will offer opportunities for families and visitors to enjoy cultural activities, entertainment and new attractions during the cooler months.

November Brings a New Season of Experiences Across the UAE

From changes affecting daily road journeys to developments in national transport and major outdoor celebrations, November 2026 is bringing a wide range of updates for UAE residents.

In Dubai, the return of the Fitness Challenge and expanded desert camping facilities signals the beginning of the city’s outdoor season. Meanwhile, new Etihad Rail stations will support connectivity in Abu Dhabi’s western region, and Yas Island’s latest attraction offers a different adventure experience.

For families, fitness enthusiasts and residents planning their weekends, the month provides several opportunities to explore the Emirates as the weather becomes more comfortable.

With major events continuing through November and into the winter months, residents have plenty to look forward to as the UAE’s busiest outdoor season gets underway.
