RTA Dubai Bus Routes Revamp 2026: 4 New Routes and 70+ Upgrades Launch This Friday

Table of Content

The RTA Dubai Bus Routes Revamp 2026 officially kicks off this week, marking one of the largest overhauls of the city’s public transport network in recent years. Starting Friday, January 9, 2026, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will introduce four brand-new routes and implement changes to over 70 existing lines to ease peak-hour congestion.

New Routes: Peak-Hour Congestion Relief

To support existing high-demand lines (Routes 88 and 93), the RTA has introduced four “directional” services. These are designed to move large volumes of passengers between Al Satwa, Jumeirah, and Al Wasl during rush hours.

  • Route 88A: Al Satwa Bus Station to Jumeirah 3 (Morning Peak).
  • Route 88B: Jumeirah 3 to Al Satwa Bus Station (Evening Peak).
  • Route 93A: Al Satwa Bus Station to Al Wasl (Morning Peak).
  • Route 93B: Al Wasl to Al Satwa Bus Station (Evening Peak).

Major Adjustments to 70+ Existing Routes

The RTA Dubai Bus Routes Revamp 2026 includes more than just new paths; it features significant realignments for over 70 lines. We’ve highlighted the most critical changes below:

Route Extensions and Realignments

Several routes have been lengthened to reach new residential and industrial communities:

  • Route 13A: Now extended to serve Al Muhaisnah 2, 7th Street.
  • Route 55: Extended within International City to reach the Greece Cluster, K12.
  • Route F39: Now reaches the Oud Al Muteena area with three new stops: Oud Al Muteena 2 A1, Oud Al Muteena 2 Masjid, and Oud Al Muteena 2 B1.
  • Route F54: Realigned to better serve the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) South Residential Area.
  • Route F55: Service expanded to cover more of the Dubai World Central (DWC) cargo zone with two additional stops.

New Bus Stop Additions

New stops have been integrated into these routes to improve access to key landmarks like the Museum of the Future:

  • Route 29: A strategic new stop added at the Museum of the Future.
  • Route 6: Two new stops at Dubai People of Determination Center and Mayo Clinic.
  • Route 18: Now serves Al Nahda Pond Park and MSB Private School on 7A Street.

  • S’hail App: The most reliable way to see real-time bus locations and the updated RTA Dubai Bus Routes Revamp 2026 schedule.
  • RTA Website: You can download the full PDF timetables for any of the 70+ modified routes.
  • Nol Card: Ensure your Nol card is topped up using our Affordable Dubai Travel Hacks 2026 to avoid delays at the station.

Final Thoughts for Commuters

This revamp is a proactive step as Dubai’s population continues to surge, a growth trend also seen in the business sector with the rise of DIFC hedge funds 2025. By streamlining these 70+ routes, the RTA aims to make public transport the fastest way to reach major events, such as the upcoming Zakir Khan Dubai Opera 2026 show.
