UAE Introduces New Visa Pathways Allowing Entry Without a Local Sponsor

Table of Content

The UAE has introduced a series of visa options that allow foreign nationals to enter the country without the need for a local sponsor, reflecting the nation’s commitment to enhancing mobility, attracting global talent and supporting economic competitiveness. These entry routes provide greater flexibility for tourists, jobseekers, investors and GCC residents seeking short-term or extended stays in the UAE.

5-Year Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa

One of the most notable options is the five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, which allows visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 180 days per year. Holders can make multiple trips, choosing 30-, 60- or 90-day visit periods based on their needs.

Applicants must present a valid passport, return ticket, health insurance and proof of sufficient financial balance. The visa is particularly popular among frequent travelers, remote workers and individuals who require long-term access to the UAE without residency.

Visa on Arrival for Indian Nationals

Indian passport holders can enter the UAE without a sponsor if they hold a valid visa or residence permit from the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Singapore, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or South Korea.

Eligible travelers receive a 14- or 60-day visa on arrival, with fees averaging around AED 250. This facilitates easier movement for Indian visitors who meet high international travel criteria.

UAE Jobseeker Visa

The UAE Jobseeker Visa enables qualified individuals to enter the country independently to explore employment opportunities. This visa does not require sponsorship and supports skilled professionals, degree holders and graduates from recognized universities.

The entry permit is available for 60, 90 or 120 days, allowing job applicants to attend interviews, understand industry landscapes and assess long-term prospects before securing employment.

Business Opportunities Visa

The Business Opportunities Visa provides short-term entry for investors, entrepreneurs and professionals evaluating commercial potential in the UAE. Valid for two to four months, this permit may be issued as a single-or multiple-entry visa, depending on the applicant’s needs.

It is designed for individuals conducting market research, meeting potential partners, or assessing early-stage business plans prior to establishing operations in the country.

eVisa for GCC Residents

GCC residents may apply for a UAE eVisa without the need for a local sponsor. The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended once.

Applicants must hold a valid passport, GCC residence permit and a profession recognized under the eligibility list. Applications can be submitted online through the GDRFA portal for Dubai or ICP services for the other Emirates. The process offers a streamlined way for regional visitors to enter the UAE efficiently.

What This Means

These visa categories represent an important evolution in the UAE’s entry and residency framework, offering greater independence for travelers, jobseekers and investors. By expanding opportunities for individuals to visit and explore the country without a local sponsor, the UAE strengthens its position as a global hub for tourism, talent and economic innovation.
