Dubai Municipality has officially started to implement the magnificent Dubai Creek Lights project under the inspiring guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. Awards are given on the basis of strict criteria, including evening entertainment, urban security and visual appeal of the metropolitan environment at nite.

Major and Significant Waterfront Locations
Dubai Creek Lights project is a brilliant illustration of the emirate’s commitment to developing highly innovative urban experiences that continually enhance the quality of life for both international visitors and long-term residents. The enormous project covers six key historic and commercial areas along the shore and uses the most advanced lighting infrastructure.

These critical enhancements will directly support the strategic objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, thereby delivering a very safe, very attractive and extremely dynamic public realm.
Dubai: A Melting Pot of Many Cultural Heritage
For many years, traditional wooden ships and trade dhows actively supported Dubai’s marine economy by navigating their trips carrying critical supplies with the help of the basic lights along the banks of the Creek to provide a safe path. The new plan is a contemporary purpose that will restore light in an attractive way to these banks, immediately supporting the present commercial and tourist activity, but also creating a whole new urban experience.
His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that Dubai Creek has always been a vital artery of trade and the indisputable starting point of Dubai’s vast economic expansion. This project breathes new life into a beautiful stretch of that ancient journey, celebrating the Creek’s cultural heritage and showcasing its urban character.
CEO of Public Facilities Agency of Dubai Municipality, Bader Anwahi, said that the project will be effectively implemented to create an integrated lighting system with the latest technology solutions. These state-of-the-art technologies ensure visual comfort and enhance greatly the whole nighttime pedestrian experience. They have to be sensitive to the particular architectural and historic character of each locality.
