Tried Society Restaurant’s Most-Hyped Weekend Brunch Platters

There’s something about a weekend brunch that just feels different. You’re not rushing to work, there’s nowhere you have to be immediately, and suddenly a meal can turn into a proper few hours of catching up, eating well and enjoying yourself.

We stopped by for their Weekend Brunch Platter, and what immediately caught our attention was that this isn’t your typical fixed brunch where you simply choose between two or three set options. Instead, you actually get to build your platter yourself.

And honestly, that makes a big difference.

The Best Part? You Pick What Goes On Your Plate

At Society Restaurant, you’re given a list of options and get to select the components you want across mains, sides, starters and desserts. So rather than ordering a platter filled with things you may or may not like, you can create one based on exactly what you’re craving that day.

We went for two different combinations.

Our first platter included shoi pan scrambled egg sandwiches, garlic buns, sausages and banana bread with salted caramel. It had that perfect mix of savoury and sweet, with the banana bread and salted caramel adding a little something extra to finish things off.

For the second platter, we went for French toast with berry compote and vanilla Chantilly cream, fries, pulled beef eggs Benedict and chocolate rolled puffs.

And yes, there was a lot of food on the table. But that’s part of what makes a brunch like this fun. Everyone can choose their favourites, share a little bit of everything and inevitably start reaching across the table for someone else’s order.

The Kind of Brunch Everyone Can Agree On

We particularly liked the fact that the platter doesn’t feel overly restrictive. Some mornings you might be craving something savoury and filling. Other days, you might be in the mood for French toast, something sweet and a lot of coffee.

Being able to choose your own combination means the brunch can be whatever you want it to be.

It also works particularly well when you’re coming with a group. Everyone has different tastes, and instead of trying to agree on one set menu, each person can pick the things they actually want.

It makes the whole experience feel more relaxed and personal.

But Did It Actually Taste Good?

Of course, customisation is great, but the food still has to deliver. For us, the flavours were a big part of what made the brunch enjoyable. The combination of savoury dishes, freshly prepared sides and sweet options meant there was something different to try throughout the meal.

The pulled beef eggs Benedict was one of the more indulgent choices, while the French toast with berry compote and vanilla Chantilly cream brought that classic brunch sweetness to the table.

And then came the dessert….

The Dessert? 11/10. Period.

We have to give the dessert its own moment because it was easily one of our favourite parts of the meal. The chocolate rolled puffs were the kind of thing you tell yourself you’ll only have one bite of and then somehow keep going back for more. Rich, indulgent and a very good way to finish a brunch.

So yes, we came for brunch, but the dessert definitely gave us a reason to stay a little longer.

The Vibe Makes It Even Better

Food is obviously a big part of any brunch, but the setting matters too. Society Restaurant has that relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and stay for a while. It doesn’t feel like you’re simply stopping by to grab breakfast. It feels more like a weekend outing.

And that’s what we enjoyed about the experience, the food, the freedom to choose what went on our platters and the easy-going atmosphere all came together nicely.
