One of the things we really enjoyed about the Brooki x BKRY croissant was the contrast in texture. The outside has that satisfying crispness you want when you bite into a freshly baked croissant, while the centre is soft, gooey and packed with cookie dough. And then you get those little hits of Tanzanian milk chocolate. It’s rich, buttery and definitely on the indulgent side but that’s kind of the point.

Because a pastry this rich needs something refreshing alongside it. We also tried one of BKRY’s summer signature drinks a peachy, fizzy drink that brought a much lighter and fruitier element to the experience.
The combination worked surprisingly well. The croissant is rich and buttery, while the drink is cold, fruity and refreshing. So you get that indulgent pastry moment without everything feeling too heavy.

While the collaboration was what brought us in, BKRY Dubai is interesting in its own right. BKRY describes itself as a multidisciplinary bakespace where baking is approached with curiosity and experimentation. Alongside freshly baked pastries and bakery items, you’ll find artisanal spreads, jams and specialty coffee.
That experimental approach is also what makes it stand out among artisan bakeries in Dubai. There’s a feeling that the team isn’t just interested in making another version of something everyone already knows. They’re playing around with ingredients, textures and ideas and that makes each visit a little more interesting.
If you’re exploring bakeries in Alserkal Avenue, BKRY is definitely one to keep on your radar. Alserkal Avenue already has plenty of reasons to visit, but stopping for a freshly baked pastry and coffee makes for a pretty good addition to the day.
And if you’re specifically searching for bakeries in Alserkal Avenue that do something a little different, BKRY fits the bill. It’s also the kind of place where you can come in for one pastry and end up looking around at everything else they’re baking.
